Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Establish a daily work task plan and communicate with team members at start of the shift
  • Provide daily directions to team members during the shift to coordinate workflow
  • Provide OJT opportunities to team members to develop flexibility
  • Work in conjunction with supervisor to identify team member strengths and weaknesses and communicate development needs to training specialists
  • Monitor line and employee performance; provide feedback to team members to ensure compliance to safety, quality, maintenance, and operational standards.
  • Complete and submit daily reports to ensure the management information system is accurate.
  • Monitor and maintain the washing station, assembly equipment, robotics, and inspection equipment through HMI interactions.
  • Maintain the production schedule to ensure accurate inventory reporting.
  • Perform routine product changes in the cell using quick change tooling.
  • Recover the automation cell from unintentional stops and return the cell to a production ready status when needed.
  • Work directly with technicians, engineering, quality, and maintenance to ensure all processes performing per standard work instructions. Report any deviations from standard work instructions immediately.
  • Monitor and maintain production quality metrics and documentation.
  • Practice Zero Tolerance with respect to safety, quality and production.
  • Perform daily cleaning preventative maintenance activities
  • Participating in Kaizen and troubleshooting events
  • Monitor and maintain 5S principles, including housekeeping responsibilities
  • Identify and disposition non-conforming products by work instructions
  • Move product via forklift between staged areas and assembly line
  • Must comply with PM logs, first piece inspection
  • Through example, demonstrate a commitment of excellence

Qualifications and Competencies :

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree
  • 6 – 12 months related experience or training

    • Basic understanding of functionality and setup of assembly equipment
    • Basic troubleshooting skills for assembly equipment
    • Working knowledge of assembly line

Environmental & Physical Demands :

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, and uses hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, or balance. Good hearing is required. Employee must be able to get on and off the forklift 50 or more times per day.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to look up, around and over the shoulder to drive in reverse.
  • Occupational noise exposure during performance of required duties. Adequate hearing protection is provided and required at all times.
  • Occupational exposure to fumes, dust, and casting debris is regularly encountered. Personal Protective Equipment including safety glasses and steel-toed, industrial footwear is required at all times.
