Multi-Skilled Journalist/Assignment Editor Location: Fort Worth, TX, US, 76103 Department: Production Position: Full-Time, On-Site ‘The Desk’ is an innovative role on the morning show of CBS News Texas, combining multi-platform content creation and assignment desk editing. The candidate will handle multiple hits during the morning show, reporting developing and breaking stories from the assignment desk. The ideal candidate will possess excellent news judgment, and the ability to produce and edit engaging content across platforms. Responsibilities include writing for on-air, online, and social media, pursuing relevant breaking news, and coordinating with news crews. Requirements include proven editing experience in broadcast/digital news, familiarity with iNews (a plus), experience with non-linear editing systems like Grass Valley Edius, a degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field (preferred), and the ability to work independently under deadlines. Flexibility to work varied schedules, including overnights, weekends, and holidays, is necessary.
