Retail Social Media Intern

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Retail, the Retail Social Media Intern will be essential to the growth of Shop KIND. This opportunity seeks to provide hands-on retail marketing experience with a focus on social media strategy, content creation, branding, e-commerce, and communication. The purpose of this role is to aid Shop KIND in generating direct-to-consumer sales through social media and brand awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Director of Retail to execute retail marketing strategies to generate revenue for the retail department
  • Create exciting and engaging content for Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook
  • Meet with Marketing and Events Manager regularly to review content and ensure adherence to brand guidelines
  • Work with the Director of Retail to launch and maintain social media-based eCommerce opportunities such as TikTok Shop and Instagram Shop
  • Track engagement and ROI of social media campaigns
  • Help to build local and national brand awareness of Shop KIND and Bens Bells
  • Work cross-departmentally to collaborate on posts and content
  • Occasional participation in off-site merchandise pop-up events, which may include setting up and breaking down, merchandising, customer outreach and selling functions
  • Promote and contribute to a positive work culture by offering support and encouragement to team members

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in retail management, consumer science, marketing, business, communications, or a related field (preferred but not required)
  • Experience with content creation on various social media platforms strongly preferred (Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in promoting kindness and community
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle customer interactions with empathy and patience
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
  • Basic computer skills (for inventory management, point of sale, etc.)
